Interview Copilot for India: Rupee Pricing, UPI, Hinglish and the Rounds Indian Companies Actually Run

MockMate for Indian job seekers: credit packs in rupees, GST, Dodo Payments checkout, Hinglish transcription, TR/MR/HR rounds, campus and walk-in formats.

Updated 8 min read

Search "interview copilot India" and you get pages that mention TCS and Infosys in the heading, then quote a price in US dollars and support "Hindi" as one item in a dropdown. This page is the opposite: rupee pricing from MockMate's live plans, how GST and UPI work at checkout, what "Hinglish support" actually means, and how the product maps to the rounds Indian companies really run, from TR/MR/HR at the IT majors to campus drives and walk-ins.

It also says clearly where a copilot should not be used. That matters more in India than almost anywhere, because most fresher hiring here runs through proctored assessments and company-controlled rounds.

What MockMate is, in one paragraph

MockMate is an AI interview preparation and live-assistance product with two surfaces. The web app runs Practice sessions in any browser: adaptive rounds with interviewer personas, follow-up pressure, a code editor for technical rounds, and a report at the end. The Windows companion is a native Windows 10/11 app for authorised Live assistance during interviews and meetings: low-latency transcription of both sides, answers grounded in your resume and job description, deliberate screen context, and a compact tool window with one-key hide. There is no Mac, iOS or Android app. The Windows-specific details are on the Live assistance page.

Pricing in rupees (as of September 2026)

MockMate sells credits, not a monthly subscription. Prices are in INR.

PackPriceCreditsApproximate session timeCost per 30-minute block
Starter₹2,0002about 120 minutes₹500
Growth₹5,0005about 300 minutes₹500
Pro₹10,00012about 720 minutesabout ₹417

How the credits are consumed:

  • 1 credit is roughly 60 minutes of session time, Practice or Live.
  • Usage is billed in 30-minute blocks of 0.5 credit, with a 10-minute grace window, so a 35-minute session does not tip into a second block.
  • There is no monthly subscription requirement to buy or keep credits.
  • Before credits, eligible accounts get a free allowance: 3 Practice starts and 3 Live starts, separate, each capped at 10 minutes. The allowance is account-lifetime and tracked server-side, so reinstalling the app does not restore it.

Prices and packs can change; the pricing page shows the current numbers. For a comparison of credit-based pricing with the subscription models most competitors use, see interview copilot pricing in India.

GST and the checkout total

GST on software services in India is charged at the applicable rate, and the checkout shows the tax and the final amount before you pay. Budget for the price plus GST rather than the pack price alone. If you need a GST invoice for a company or a proprietorship, enter the details at checkout when prompted.

UPI, cards and who you are actually paying

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record. That means the charge on your statement and the invoice come from Dodo, and refunds follow MockMate's refund and cancellation policy through the same processor. Dodo's own documentation lists, for India, UPI, RuPay cards and Indian-issued Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards, alongside international cards and wallets for buyers outside India. The methods shown at checkout are the ones available to your account at that moment. Dodo's documentation also notes that Indian card and UPI transactions can carry a processing delay, so buy credits a day before an interview, not an hour before.

Hinglish is a real feature, not a dropdown entry

Most Indian interviews switch languages mid-sentence. MockMate lets you set your spoken language, and transcription and answers work in Hinglish (mixed Hindi-English), so an HR round that opens in English and moves into Hindi by the second question reads naturally in the transcript, and suggestions come back in the same register. The Hindi and Hinglish copilot page has a full sample exchange and the limits (accents, crosstalk, jargon inside Hindi sentences). The same language setting drives Practice, so you can rehearse a Hinglish HR round in the browser before the real one.

The rounds Indian companies actually run

A copilot built for a single "interview" does not fit how hiring works here. These are the formats you will meet and how MockMate fits each.

TR, MR and HR at the IT services majors

TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, HCL and Tech Mahindra run some version of a three-stage funnel after an online assessment:

  • Technical round (TR). Core subjects, your final-year project, a coding question or two, sometimes on a shared editor.
  • Managerial round (MR). Scenario questions, ownership, relocation, bond, how you handle pressure. Often mixed-language.
  • HR round. Salary expectation, notice period, family, location, "why this company."

MockMate Practice lets you attach your resume and the job description and run each round type separately with an interviewer persona that follows up. The report shows response timing, recurring weaknesses and a recommended next practice. Company-specific question banks are on the TCS and Infosys pages, with more companies to follow.

Campus placements

Campus drives compress everything into a day or two: pre-placement talk, online test, group discussion at some companies, then TR and HR back to back. The assessment stage is almost always proctored and prohibits assistance; Live is not appropriate there. Practice the night before is. Because the free allowance gives three ten-minute Practice starts, a final-year student can run a TR, an MR and an HR mock without spending anything.

Off-campus drives and walk-ins

Walk-in interviews at IT parks, BPO hubs and retail chains are face-to-face; a Windows companion has no role in the room. What helps is a Practice session on the phone in the browser the evening before, in the language the interview will actually be in. Off-campus virtual drives follow the TR/HR structure on Google Meet, Teams or Zoom; the Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom pages explain what each platform shares and what stays hidden.

Startup and product-company rounds

Screening call, take-home or live coding, system design, then culture fit and founder round. The live coding round is where screen context matters: you deliberately capture the problem on screen and ask a grounded question, with the source labelled. Whether that is acceptable depends entirely on the company; many startups say "use whatever you like, explain your reasoning," and many do not.

Government contract, nursing, teaching and sales roles

These interviews are often Hindi-heavy panel interviews, sometimes in person. Practice in Hinglish is the useful part; question banks for staff nurse freshers and sales freshers cover the specific questions those panels ask.

Time zones and overseas interviews from India

A lot of Indian candidates interview for US, UK or Australian teams, which puts calls at 8 pm to 2 am IST. MockMate has no scheduling constraint; a Live session at 1 am works the same as one at 11 am, and Practice sessions can be run whenever you are awake. What you should plan around is the audio path: a late-night call on Bluetooth earbuds is exactly the setup where a wrong default output device silences transcription, so check the companion's input-health indicators before the call, not during it.

When to use it, and when not to

MockMate's position, stated on every page of this site: use Live assistance only where the organisation, interviewer or applicable rules permit assistance and disclosure. Use Practice when permission is unclear.

In the Indian context that means:

  • Proctored online assessments (the first stage at almost every IT major and most campus drives): Practice before, nothing during.
  • Company-controlled TR/MR/HR rounds: unless the company has told you assistance is fine, prepare with Practice and walk in without a helper.
  • Mock interviews with mentors, calibration calls, client meetings, language-mixed conversations where a live transcript helps: Live assistance is legitimate.
  • Any round where you are asked directly whether you used AI: answer honestly.

MockMate does not authorise cheating in exams or unauthorised interview use; its Acceptable Use Policy, AI Safety and Usage Policy and Trust Center say so. The longer discussion of where the line sits for Indian job seekers is in Is using an AI interview copilot cheating?.

Frequently asked questions

What does MockMate cost in rupees?

As of September 2026 the credit packs are Starter at 2,000 rupees for 2 credits, Growth at 5,000 rupees for 5 credits and Pro at 10,000 rupees for 12 credits. One credit is about sixty minutes of session time, billed in thirty-minute blocks. GST is shown at checkout.

Can I pay with UPI?

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, the merchant of record, whose documentation lists UPI, RuPay and Indian-issued Visa and Mastercard cards for India. The checkout shows the methods available to you at the time.

Is there a free trial for Indian users?

Eligible accounts receive three free Practice starts and three free Live starts, each capped at ten minutes, before any credits are needed. They are tracked on the server, so reinstalling does not add more.

Does it work for TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Accenture rounds?

Practice can be set up for the TR, MR and HR round structure those companies use, with your resume and the job description attached. Live assistance during an actual company round is only appropriate where the company, interviewer or applicable rules permit assistance and disclosure.

Do I need a Windows laptop?

Practice runs in any modern browser, including on a phone. Live assistance needs the Windows 10/11 companion; there is no Mac, iOS or Android app.
