MockMate vs Verve AI: Which Interview Copilot Fits Indian Interviews?
MockMate vs Verve AI for India: free sessions vs free starts, INR credits vs unpublished USD tiers, Windows-only vs Mac and iPhone, Hindi vs Hinglish.
"MockMate vs Verve AI" is a fair fight for an Indian candidate, because Verve is one of the few copilots that has bothered to build an India page and a Hindi page. Whether that marketing matches what you get in a TCS or Flipkart round depends on four things: how each product charges, which devices it runs on, how it handles mixed Hindi-English speech, and what it promises about being seen on a shared screen.
Every Verve figure below was checked on vervecopilot.com on 9 September 2026. Every MockMate figure comes from MockMate's own pricing and product pages on the same date. Where Verve's page did not show a number, the table says "not published" rather than guessing.

Pricing: what "affordable" means on each side
Verve's India page headline is "Best Interview Copilot for India — Affordable". The word is doing a lot of work, because the page does not show a rupee figure, and the pricing page we fetched listed session counts and minutes for each tier without the monetary price rendering in the public HTML. So the honest statement is: Verve publishes its tier structure but, as of September 2026, we could not verify a USD or INR price from its own pages. If you are comparing costs, open the pricing page in a browser, note the number, and check the billing period before you enter card details.
MockMate publishes the numbers. Starter is ₹2,000 for 2 credits, Growth ₹5,000 for 5, Pro ₹10,000 for 12, plus 18% GST, as of September 2026. One credit is about 60 minutes. Billing is in 30-minute blocks of 0.5 credit with a 10-minute grace window, so a 38-minute round costs 0.5 credit and a 65-minute round costs 1 credit. Nothing renews.
The structural difference is per-session caps. Verve's Standard tier caps a session at 60 minutes and Pro at 90; MockMate has no per-session cap beyond your balance. Verve's Free tier gives 45 live minutes across three sessions, which is more free live time than MockMate's 30; MockMate's 30 free Practice minutes are separate from its 30 free Live minutes. Platforms: Verve is broader, MockMate is deeper on Windows
Verve runs on Mac, Windows and iPhone, plus a browser version. That breadth is real and it is the main reason to pick Verve if you own a MacBook or want to glance at a phone during a call.
MockMate's Live companion is a native Windows 10/11 app only. It captures microphone and system audio at the operating-system level, so the meeting client does not matter: Chrome tab, Teams desktop, Zoom desktop, all sound the same to it. It shows input health (mic, system audio, transcription, reconnect) so you know before the call whether it is hearing anything. Practice runs in any browser.
If you are on Windows, the question is which of the two you trust with your audio and your screen; if you are on a Mac or phone, Verve is the one of the two that runs at all. Our Windows guide explains why a native app behaves differently from a browser tool during screen share.
Stealth and honesty
Verve's pricing page says the desktop app "stays undetectable during screen sharing and remains visible only to you" and the homepage repeats "undetectable during screen sharing".
MockMate describes a compact tool window that is always on top, hides with one key, has a Privacy Mode, and applies capture resistance on supported Windows display paths. MockMate's pages say this is platform-dependent and not a guarantee of invisibility. In practice, whether an overlay is excluded from a share depends on what you share (a tab, a window, or the whole screen), which capture path the meeting client uses, and whether a proctoring browser is involved. We wrote a separate explainer on what Meet, Zoom and Teams actually capture.
For a candidate, the takeaway is the same on both: "undetectable" is a claim about screen capture, not a permission slip. If the round bans assistance, do not use either tool's live mode.
Hindi vs Hinglish
This is where the products diverge in a way that matters for Indian interviews.
Verve lists Hindi among 55+ transcription languages, and its Hindi page promises "respectful, technically grounded answers" that adapt "formal and conversational Hindi registers", and says it "handles a wide range of Indian regional accents in both Hindi and English". That is a Hindi-language interview feature plus accent robustness in English.
MockMate is built around the reality that Indian interviews mix languages inside a sentence. You set your spoken language, and transcription and answers work in Hinglish, so "is API ka rate limit kaise handle karoge?" transcribes and gets answered as one thought, not as a Hindi fragment and an English fragment. If your interviews sound like that, it is worth using a free Practice start to hear the difference before paying anyone. Details on the Hindi and Hinglish copilot page.
Coding rounds
Verve's coding copilot is "designed to support live technical rounds and LeetCode-style problems" and includes screen analysis. MockMate keeps screen capture user-initiated: you take a screenshot or grab visible text of the problem, review it in a queue, remove it if you change your mind, and the answer that comes back is labelled "screen text" or "screenshot". In Practice, MockMate's technical rounds include a code editor with coding and system-design sessions and a report.
Verve is the more automatic; MockMate is the more controlled. Which you prefer says more about you than about the tools.
Practice and reports
Verve's Free tier includes 5 mock interviews and 5 reports; paid tiers make mocks unlimited. MockMate's Practice is adaptive (questions respond to your answers, personas add follow-up pressure), context-aware (resume, target role, seniority, JD, focus areas), and ends with a report covering question-level answers, response timing, coaching evidence, recurring weaknesses and a recommended next practice. See Practice.
Ethics: what each says about permitted use
MockMate's Trust Center and Acceptable Use Policy say to use Live assistance only where the organisation, interviewer or applicable rules permit assistance and disclosure, and to use Practice when permission is unclear. MockMate does not authorise cheating in exams or unauthorised interview use.
We did not find an equivalent statement on the Verve pages we checked, which focus on undetectability. That does not mean Verve users are doing anything wrong; it means the responsibility sits entirely with you. In India that includes campus placement rules, proctored platforms such as Talview and HackerEarth, and integrity clauses in service agreements. Our is it cheating article walks through the cases.
Verdict by persona
Fresher in India
On a Windows laptop with Hinglish interviews and a fixed budget, MockMate is the more predictable choice: published INR pricing, no renewal, and a Practice mode you are encouraged to use for TR and HR rehearsal. If you are on a Mac, or you want 45 free live minutes to try the idea, Verve's Free tier is the better trial.
Experienced engineer
If you interview from multiple devices, want a phone option, and prefer an automatic coding feed, Verve's cross-platform reach is the advantage. If you interview a few times a quarter on Windows, want source-labelled answers and control over what is captured, MockMate's credits cost less than a plan you forget to cancel.
Non-tech roles
Language and price decide it. MockMate's Hinglish handling and rupee packs are the practical wins; Verve's Hindi page is the better fit for an interview conducted entirely in Hindi. For both, use live mode only in calls where the other side knows.
Bottom line
Verve AI is broader (Mac, iPhone, browser) and markets to India without publishing rupee prices. MockMate is narrower (Windows for Live, browser for Practice) and publishes its INR packs, its billing blocks and its limits, including the limit that it cannot guarantee invisibility. Choose on device and language first, then on price. If neither fits, the Final Round AI alternatives round-up lists five more options with verified pricing.
Frequently asked questions
Does Verve AI show prices in rupees?
No. Verve's India landing page calls itself affordable and names TCS and Infosys, but neither that page nor its pricing page showed INR amounts when we checked on 9 September 2026. The pricing page lists session counts and minutes per tier; the monetary prices did not render on the public page. MockMate publishes INR credit packs: ₹2,000 for 2 credits, ₹5,000 for 5, ₹10,000 for 12, plus 18% GST, as of September 2026.
Which has the better free tier?
They are shaped differently. Verve's free plan gives 3 copilot sessions of 15 minutes each plus 5 mock interviews and 5 reports. MockMate gives 3 Practice starts and 3 Live starts, each capped at 10 minutes, tracked per account for life. Verve gives more free live minutes; MockMate gives separate free allowances for practice and live.
Can I use Verve AI or MockMate on a phone?
Verve says it is available on Mac, Windows and iPhone. MockMate's Live companion is Windows 10/11 only; MockMate Practice runs in any browser, including a phone browser, but there is no MockMate mobile app.
Do both support Hindi?
Verve lists Hindi among 55+ languages and has a Hindi copilot page that mentions Indian accents in Hindi and English. MockMate lets you set your spoken language and its transcription and answers work in Hinglish, meaning mixed Hindi-English sentences, which is closer to how Indian technical interviews are actually spoken.
Is either tool allowed in a proctored assessment?
Treat the answer as no for both. MockMate's policy is Live only where the organisation or rules permit assistance, and Practice when unclear. Verve markets an undetectable desktop app but that does not change an employer's or platform's rules.
Start a free MockMate Practice session
Three free Practice starts and three free Live starts of up to ten minutes each, no card needed. Use Live only where assistance is permitted.
